Wednesday May 31st

 Almost ready to 'refurnish' the house! Tomorrow is the big day, as we plan to get things off the patio, and out of the garage. Unfortunately, we have to sort though a lot of stuff that just got thrown into boxes or carts. Today theywill put the molding down, so one more day of trying to stay out of the way!

For right this minute I thought I would share some birthday cards that I did the first of the month. Dianas birthday was the 8th & in lieu of nice decorations, I cut a dozen or so of these Happy Birthday dies and threw them all around the table! So then, I decided that they needed to be cards! Here we go ........

One of these has a gold frame.

 

The next one is a different shade of red??

Yes, I had fun with these. The next ones are a strip background made with designer papers. The Happpy Birthday is a favorite. Of course its all good when its gold!!

Thursday May 25th

 Wish you could hear the dog barking...........no, I don't. I am just locked in here for awhile with Lucy Lou as the crew is here to work on the floors.   Third day.....Yesterday and the day before, I read a book by Kristin Hannah. Four Winds. They do give you thought about what she is writing about. Last one I read was The Great Alone, centered in Alaska. Four Winds was about hardship and immigration in the 1930's.

These cards feature Simon Says stamps and dies. Absolutely love the versatility of these images! I made 2 each of a couple of them!

Wednesday May 24th

 Its evening and I have put off my blogging for a couple weeks. No reason, except, we can't find much of anything! We are replacing flooring in the house, and believe me, this is a BIG deal. Today is the second demo day, one more room to go, then they might start putting in the floors. The refrigerator is in the living room, and so it goes......that is just one example. I did do these cards a while ago, I really like them and just forgot to post. 

This is a Spellbinder die. Four petals series. Nice size. I used a wplus 9 cover die for the background on the earth colored ones.

                   I think this is a sizzix label set. Not sure.

                       The pink one is my favorite! I will wait for the sentiment till I decide where it is going.

Sunday May 14th

 Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers today!! I saw a video by Dream, Craft Create. Here is the link..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nm8Y4yFlpeo  I think her name is Charleen. So this is an easy technique! Just designer paper, labels or sentiments. Perfect timing as I just got the Pinkfresh studio 'strip' dies. 

                                       

Used the cut-out piece from the 1st card. I did the 1st card  just like the video suggested, covering the whole A-2 card in horizontal strips. Then cut the oval with a Spellbinder oval die.

Again I followed the video, I folded the A-2 card in half and cut away a portion. Attached the label with foam mounting tape on the the right side of the label.

 A happy birthday to Diana!! We had a nice celebration yesterday, but today is the 'real' day. 

So just for all May birthdays, we have a bunch of (what else), happy birthday cards!

                   collage paper from my stash. The arches die, probably pink fresh studio. Easy layered card.

                                      

   Maybe a Honeybee stamp cover die. Balloons are from Ali

                              

 Have a couple of  paper packs with this 'lacy' paper in it and it never gets used... So, these could have been birthday cards! 
                                           

               Which is why I showed the lacy paper. It matched the watering can die papers. The die is from Pocketfull of happiness. The set lends itself to a bigger card, but I did a couple of 4 1/2x6.

                    Happy May Day!

I am pretty old so I remember on May 1st my Mom would bake cupcakes, muffins or cookies. We (my sister and I would go to the neighbors house and leave the basket, and ring the doorbell and run!! 

 I did this one for my son and his wife. Blueberry muffins.... that time I had to drive & run away!  Always fun to suprise someone. 

               Here are some vintage pictures from the internet.

                 Maypole dance......The maypole was a 'living tree' and we always thought of it as a  festival of spring. The maypole was decorated with flowers and greenery.  It was a happy celebration. 

                          Okay, I need to take some pictures of my cards, so hopefully, tomorrow we can share some of the projects done last week.
