Sat. Oct 5th!

So today is a historical day!

I featured the 'chocolate' card boxes in the last post and two of the four were Christmas themed. So it has to okay to continue with a couple posts of Christmas cards, right? These are for the nursing homes and some of these were done in July. The first set of  cards show a couple Elizabeth Craft dies. The nativity & the bells.  These are border dies and I am not sure if they are still available.

The next is a Penny Black nativity in a circle.

Saturday

Still on Gracie watch... Good days and bad days.
September has been sort of  slow in the creative department. Although when I found these little boxes, I was hooked. The instructions are in polish ,the video is good, but sooo quick! I watched it dozen times. I also modified the instructions some. http://www.ignatova-marina.ru/   There is a tiny
word prompt here.. click that and it will take you to the  video.
First let me say, my first one was a disaster! The next two are Christmas themed and turned out pretty nice. A Vintage Christmas. This is the front of the box.

This is the inside of the box. The front cover is on the back of the 'reindeer ephemera' and the chocolate box is behind the red pockets!  The next  photo below is the back of the book.  Notice on mine, there are two 'spines' in the book. The instructions indicated they should be different sizes, but I did make they both 1 inch.  My book is one 12x12 designer paper cut in half. 6x12.  On your scoreboard, score across the horizontal side at 2-1/2, 5, 6, 8-1/2 and 9-1/2. Works perfectly.

The decorative accent papers are 5-3/4 long and 2-3/8. Between the spines, or folds is really about 2-1/2 inches. You could do the width of the accent pieces 2-1/4. Remember the pockets can't be any wider than that or the book won't fold. If you use the 2-1/4 accent piece, maybe use a pocket width of only 2 inches.
Next 'Christmas' box.
The inside cover, with the chocolate box folded over the  pockets. Notice the left side with the skates. It is glued only on the outside edges for that other pocket. Wish I would've taken more pics, but I needed more ephemera and nothing felt 'right'! FYI: again all ephemera has to be pretty flat to fold. The front cover is the only exception.

Think how fun to do a Halloween one!
This next box is my favorite! It is pretty well decorated, and I used old simple stories paper and a 'movie projector' die from Wish. Fun!

Happy Sunday!

First Sunday in September already! I would say fall is here, but not quite, Las Vegas is still in the 100's! Maybe 99 if we are really lucky.

I am going to show a few cards with 'big' dies, dies that fit a 5x8 envelope. The first one below is the mystical embrace by Spellbinders. It is a couple years old. You know how I like using things that haven't been used in awhile! Makes me happy.

This is  the Spellbinders Bella Rosa Layering die. So pretty!

Another really old stamp. This one is artist Marty Noble.

Good morning! A beautiful (oh, its still dark here), morning. Well, It's is going to be a nice day. We still have our Gracie girl (doggie), and she is eating so its as good as can be expected.

These cards are with stamps from the Altenew Perfectly Perfect set. Love this set. When I got them I was surprised the flowers were so small, but once I started stamping and arranging them, they are Perfectly perfect!!

August is speeding by!! It is still hot here too.  The weather and time covered, I  will share more cards today. The 'HI' card is by Concord & 9th. I did these some time ago and thought they were on my blog. Since they are 'shaker' cards, I feel I must share!! I left the insides blank so you could choose the verse inside.

I could make these all day long. So fun! This time Used a die from 'wish' for the next three cards. This red one is my Christmas themed one, roses in December. I has a nice gold glitter paper in the background.

I think the baby blue one is my favorite!

One more card using an old Heartfelt Creations wooden stamp. Just an easy technique. I inked the stamp with versafine and randomly added watercolor.

Tuesday August 21st.

August has been busy and hot!! We had company for eleven days, which was a treat! Dawn came and we did cards, sorted stuff, and ate the whole time!! Al retired last week! That is about two years to late, but now the adjustment for both of us begins. We are still on 'Gracie' watch! Our sweet sweet girl is in kidney failure. We have had some really bad days with her, and just when you think it is over, she rallies for a couple days! Today is a (barely) rally day.
This time I will share some cards that I made last month. The dome is the same  Spellbinders die I used in the booklet cards. I used one die cut and the matching Spellbinder Happy Birthday/balloon circle set in the center.

These make such easy and quick cards!
I want to add one more card made with the Spellbinder dome die. This is my birthday card that Emily made for me. Check out the doggies!

Don't you love it?!!

Very last day of July!

Very last day of July. I am not sure what that is supposed to mean, but just go with it! Here are some miscellaneous cards to share. The first one is the My Favorite Things Retro die. I made a shaker card out of it, (wish there were more sprinkles!) anyway it makes a nice 'Friend' card for a guy or a girl.

Next card is my friend Emilys. Think this is soo cute. The elephant dies came from Ali Express. Not sure where she got the palm trees, but love how she puts things together!
