Just looked around and realized we are finally about halfway  unpacked! The movers came & went, we continued moving & cleaning for all of last week. It is over. Yesterday we put a couple pictures on the walls and lights in the garage. Trying to remember what I posted and what should be next.. It has been nearly a month.

 

 

 

Halloween is getting close!

 

Just had our Son Doug and Grandsons here for the weekend. Hope they had a good time. We did. Took them to a movie. It is really hard to find something to do when it is 110 degrees! We used to have a pool, but we don't anymore. Ugh. We went through our new house, and some other big expensive models. Told the kids not to get to excited, ours is about half that size! It was hot going up and down the stairs of the new ones. Luckily ours is a one story.  We are looking like the garage in the house here, with all the boxes stacked up. Supposed to have 12 days to go.

I did have a really nice birthday this year. So far it has spanned about a week and a half! I got some beautiful cards, crafty stuff & 3 (yes count them), 3 lunches with 3 friends. Talk about blessed!! The explosion card was a suprise in the mail from Dawn. Love it!

 

This is just too adorable! All the girls came and thought it was beautiful! I wish my pictures were better.

 

Yesterday Em came and we sorted out OLD stuff in the garage. Sure hard to part with some things! It was hot so even if we weren't out there long, it seemed like forever.

Today I want to share a couple cards Linda F, Em, and I did a few weeks ago. Sometimes it takes me that long to photograph (or actually) find something. We played around with foil.

Both were made with the strips of tape. Fun & easy! I did one with the adhesive, but I was slopppy, so stay tuned for more sparkling foil goodies!

New month, new day! We have been busy and we will get really busy as August progresses! We are moving yet again. Hopefully this will be it for a very long time. The actual packing is where we are now. A couple girlfriends came over this week, instead of making cards, we packed up the book shelves and two hutches. Today Al and I packed up and washed everything on the pot shelves. Yep, this is what it looks like. Note... take pictures of your walls/ shelves if you like them, so you can put up your 'goodies' again easily. Forgot.

Dawn and I shopped the scrapbook store last week and I bought the Memory box die. It is called the reverse butterfly collage. Here is the link   http://memoryboxco.com/search.asp   It makes such an easy and elegant card. Sorry about this link. It takes you to Memory Box, but you have to type in Reverse Butterfly collage.
Last week Linda F, Emily & I got together and made a bunch of them. We used the 'smooch' background. I am not sure what it is really called. There is a video, but generally it is a watercolor background. We used a craft sheet and 'smooched' 3 colors of distress ink on the sheet. Then we spritzed it. Sometimes one color at a time works better. Using a 4x6 piece of transparency, we picked up the colors and applied them wherever we wanted them on the background. 

                       Had fun with these, and as you can see, the dp looks great for the backgrounds.

Today is a great day for blogging. It is early in the morning, but it looks overcast and cloudy. I chose blogging over baking. Good day for that too, only with blogging you don't have to do dishes!
Yes, speaking of dishes.. we had company, family for the last ten days. I love having Dawn as she and I craft or 'die cut' our little hands out, and as a bonus I get to enjoy my grandson Johnathon. 

             Yes, we are related, we both have a shaker card obsession!
              Dawn did all these cards with cute designer papers, 

Hopefully, no one sees these cards before they get them!

Love this collage sheet by Maja Design. It is called Coffee in the Arbour. My Macaroons would be perfect with with this theme!
