Happy Mothers Day!

It is still morning here, and I already got a good Mothers Day thing started!  Al fixed breakfast, and then my granddaughter Stacy called. Pretty special. Thanks to my family and happy wishes to all the Moms everywhere!

Pictures & Cards

Expecting to post cards today, but this morning I am playing with my cameras! Just a sideline showing the same picture, each one about 5 minutes apart, (considering the light), and from the same angle.

This is my oldest camera, the canon sx201. It has about 18 mpixel, and its lowest angle is 28mm. It is my 'go to' for my cards. Even though this shot is not exemplery, the camera is a point and shoot.

Canon D-70. Awesome camera. It is expensive. It is 20 mpixel and lowest angle is 18mm on the 18-55lens. Liked this camera for Johns graduation pictures.

You could say 'last is best', except the flowers are pink. I agree, this shot is stunning. This is my latest camera. It is the 'mirrorless' Sony A6000. Awesome shots. Some pros are using these cameras, as they are lighter weight, and I love the 'low light' feature. It is 24mpixel with the 18mm-55mm lens.

 

And for you Flower people out there, this is a 39 year old Hoya plant. I had it 38 years before it bloomed. Last year we got four blooms. There are 10 of the little 'star flower' clusters on it now! I was selling Home Interiors in Placerville Ca, and my hostess gave me this plant. We moved it everwhere, but this must be its favorite place!

April spring

Where oh where did our little April go? I know it it pretty repetitive to lament time passage with every month, but it really did fly. We had a great month as Dawn and Kelly stopped and visited for a day. Then about ten days later we got John, (our grandson), who drove down and stayed nearly a week. Then Dawn came on the third day and stayed, and rode back with John.

Ok, John is Dawns son in case I was clear as mud. Ha! Two more FYI's, she crafts (yeah!), and John is almost 18. 18!! I did take a better (bunch) of pictures. By now the sun was really bugging him.

I got the new Gemini electronic cutting machine from Crafters companion. I've been using it for over a month and it is soo easy! 

 

These show the latest group of cards. Did some paper collage from Graphic 45 paper and re-purposed some Christmas stenciled fronts.

Friday

Its Friday and we are having company for a couple days. I wanted to show you these cards before I have to clean up! Oh no, 'Clean Up', that means I may never find you again if you don't get to your home before the final CLEAN.  Three of the four cards are the Poppy Girl stamp from Unity. The last card, the poppies, which is appropriate for this post, features a stamp from Power Poppy Stamps. Here we go!

 

This little gal needs some embellishments and maybe some encouraging words. Wanted to share the pastels. Love this stamp!

 

Just a note to say, I really am excited to have company and I don't mind the 'clean'. Maybe I will find that lost stamp!!

Friday

It's a beautiful day here. Lets start with some more cards and ideas. Todays feature is the'vertical' card. The first ones are "Thank You's" made with a Tattered Lace alphabet die.

Next  ones are stamped with an OLD Magenta image of the 3 pots! Love these, but probably haven't used them for 15 years. Ok, stamped and embossed in black, and colored with irridescent H20's.

More cards with Marianne dies. Yummy! Yes, these could have been embellished, but sometimes the chuch perfers a flat card. Better for mailing. The big ( and it is about 4.5 ) circle looks plain and , but it is one of my most used dies. Fits nicely on a 5x5 card.

This is a  picture of the die I used for the cards in yesterdays post. Thought you might like to see. Fairly new.

March 2017

New month, new post. Today I have another Marianne Die. It is as you see a square with a bit of lacy cut-outs. At first I thought it it was limited but only by the size. Any image for any theme can be put in the center. Or if you like, just words or a flower! Really easy and color makes it versatile too.

This one shows all four pieces in the set. The lacy layer in the center is what I cut in half and used on the sides of the heart cards in a previous post. Of course the white layer on top  is a plain circle.

Marianne Dies

Today we are featuring Marianne Dies. I absolutely love these dies.The oval has been around awhile, but I just got it. It is so versatile. My use is vertical, but go look on the web and it is stunning in a horizontal format.

 

The image above is ephemera found on the web. They look pretty much the same. One is pink, one is peachy. The roses on the card below are from Germany.

 


Bunny is from a Marianne collage sheet. The Butterflys are from Authentique paper pack.

Think this grey one is my favorite!
